Energy Costs Are Rising: What Can I do?
As you are all well aware, until recently, energy experts were predicting that household energy bills would rise above 300% as we move into 2023, with costs going up to £3500 for households this October.
However, with great relief for homeowners, the government has announced a new support package capping energy prices at £2500 from October for the next two years. There has also been confirmed that the winter discount of £400 will go ahead, with £66 deducted from October and November bills and a further £67 for bills from December to March.
Under the latest support package – the worst of the energy crisis may indeed, now be over.
However, the truth of the matter is that by October, energy prices will have risen by 66% in less than a year and a cap of £2500 is not cheap. There are many people still asking: “Can I do anything to cut my energy bills before winter?”.
How about reducing your energy usage? Installing NEST or Hive smart devices like an energy-saving thermostat, is a great step toward limiting your energy usage and reducing the cost of your energy bills, before winter.
